Mike’s collection began 12 years ago after he discovered what rockhounding was. His interest in rocks was a quick and lasting love affair. Over the years Mike self studied maps, read guides, and expanded his knowledge of geological patterns and formations. Driven by the thrill of the hound and the excitement of where the search would take him next, his expeditions soon expanded state lines. Following what seemed to be a sixth sense, Mike set off on treasure hunts all over the west coast.
Thus his collection grew and eventually a new passion emerged. Lapidary work. Gifted a tile saw, Mike took to the blade. Combining his admiration for rocks and tapping into his artistry skills from within, Mike began cutting his finds and exploring each rock’s individual expression. Each rock from this collection will find you hand cut and hand polished, with a whole ass journey attached.
